Quels contrastes!

 photo 320 1 IMG_1822_zps4ogar0ay.jpg

What contrasts!
Rain is a good thing as long as pollution is not involved.

As for these bits of Lily of The Valley (a gift from Claude), my activities need to retake their roots.

Place à la pratique mentale

 photo 284 1 IMG_2412_zpswbi9hoqh.jpg
Parc Monceau, Paris, octobre 2016

Spiritual practice
The Monceau Park seemed to be a place dedicated to mindfulness that morning: what do you see on the above picture? One seems to be getting rid of negative thoughts, the whole thing done quietly.

Very close to this sundial; there are so many of these sundials in the Ubaye Valley.

However it is very difficult for me to recognize the different kinds of cornflowers: this one was found in our own backyard and I have no idea where it comes from.

Good luck to all carburators ! We drove up twice starting at Jausiers and ending at the Bonette Pass, the first time in a pea soup.

photo 188 1 IMG_6606_zpsdqum9kym.jpg Toulouse Saint Simon, Parc Monlong, avril 2015

Witch hearts
These mushrooms called Clathrus ruber can apparently be found much of the year at the parc Monlong, I had showed them to you last October. Here they are still as eggs waiting to hatch...

Neither an animal, nor a vegetal
Yes, it is a mushroom! A milk-cap? Any mycologists among you who could identify this one?

Clathrus ruber - Champignons grillagés

photo IMG_0835_zps3205e306.jpg Toulouse Saint Simon, Parc Monlong, octobre 2014

 Clathrus ruber - Latticed mushrooms
They start as mushrooms,  take the shape of quite  large white eggs and develop themselves into these orange wiffle footballs, then deflate. Knowing the place where I found these, I'll be on the lookout next summer to record their birth.
* By what I read, they can be found in California.

Intrigued by Cergie’s words « white chestnut… pink chestnut… » One can identify the species looking at the leaves... I went back to the very spot I photographed a young chestnut tree last weekend : it is a pink one and if it’s leaves are being attacked it’sprobably by rust.

 photo 1162IMG_4436_zps662bad47.jpg

Meanwhile a few carps keep creating circles on the water.

 photo IMG_4492_zps03cdfe83.jpg

A chestnut tree of course. The capsule contains three capsules and not one or two as for the horse chestnut.

Elzéard

photo IMG_3632_zpsc1ac1ac1.jpg Santa Pola, Espagne, juillet 2014

Reading Patricia’s last post (in French) Wangari Muta Maathai and Jean Giono came automatically to mind, they are not the only ones out there.

Pelote de mer

photo 1041IMG_0228_zps533122cb.jpg Santa Pola, juillet 2014

Pour/For Avignon in Photos

This little brown spheroid (egagropili) is formed naturally by remains of posdonies. The Posidonia Oceanica (known as Neptune Grass) is an aquatic plant which, shortly said, protects beaches from erosion and produces oxygen and compost.

   photo 1042IMG_2839_zps0e8cb578.jpg

While we were staying in Santa Pola it did not take long to understand that beaches were covered day after day with decaying leaves as well as with these strange little burgers and that every morning the cleaning of beaches would take place.

 photo 1043IMG_9838_zps33f3b207.jpg

The plus sign is that researchers are studying and already succeeded in transforming this plant species into an enduring insulation material and this without any chemical substance. It remains to eliminate the sand contained in these egagropili.
