Nous avons ainsi travaillé sur les dix articles que nous avions chacun apportés, 100% coton sinon la teinture ne prend pas. Deux bains furent préparés un le matin, l’autre l’après-midi, la solution ne faisant effet que pour une durée de cinq heures.

Each one of us worked on the ten articles we brought with us, it had to be 100% cotton otherwise the dye doesn’t hold. Two different baths were prepared one used in the morning, the other one in the afternoon, indeed the solution only works for five hours.

 

Malgré tout ce bleu, nous plierons bagage à une vitesse éclair, la pluie s’étant mise à tomber. Avant de rentrer à Toulouse qui n’est qu’à trente kilomètres, nous visitons l’église Notre Dame du XVIe qui nous rappelle à l’ordre : nous devons rentrer.

Despite all the blue around we had to pack up rapidly when the rain started. Before driving back to Toulouse which is 18 miles away, we visited the Notre Dame church of the XVIth century which gently reminded us that it was time to drive back home.

The Mistress of Ceremony, Annette Hardouin who is probably a direct descendant of Panoramix (Getafix) -the wizard character in the Asterix comics series- in front of her wash tub.
 

Une particularité : lorsque le linge est retiré de la mixture il est vert, il ne devient bleu, ceci après seulement quelques secondes, qu’au contact de l’air.

A surprising particularity: when the cloth is taken outside the mixture it is green, it is only turning blue in a matter of seconds in contact with air.

Un magnifique décor pour passer une journée mémorable : certaines parties de ce château de Loubens datent du XV et XVIe siècle, d’autres du XVIIIe.

Such a unique decor for such a memorable day: parts of the Loubens castle date from the 15th and 16th century, others from the 18th.
